You may have already decided how much you want to weigh. I will not go into the analysis of the process which enabled you to arrive at this weight. Whichever method you use, I ask you to forget about it.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO WEIGHT

You may have consulted one of these charts that allow you to calculate your weight according to your height and age. In this case, let me tell you that your approach is anything but scientific. This is the reasoning of a learned monkey. These grids are only rantings concocted not by Mother Nature, but by man.

In fact, it gives you a good excuse. I've always maintained that my real problem was that I was six inches shorter than I should have, not that I was fifteen pounds overweight. These tables generally pass for scientific, but on examination, it does not hold. Do they take into account individual factors like bones? And then, who establishes these grids? By what right do these people decide that all people of the same height should weigh the same, and how do they arrive at this ideal weight?

The lack of a target weight a priori has another less obvious but just as wonderful advantage.

The downside to the weight goal is that until you hit it you weren't successful. The great thing about THE SIMPLE WAY is that you don't go on a diet, you just change your eating habits. When you sowed a seed, you did what was necessary. You don't have to wait for it to germinate. It's exactly the same with THE SIMPLE METHOD. From the moment you start the program, the problem is fixed. You don't have to stand there and wait until you reach your desired weight. You can enjoy life with the confidence that just by starting the program you have solved your weight problem. Your paintings, your mirror, your clothes will be additional incentives. Suppose you have given up on burdening yourself with a predetermined weight goal.
